A subtle change seems to have occurred at Warby Parker, apparently an unintended consequence of catering to the hipster sensibility. My initial visits two years ago were outstanding. Friendly employees. Cool frames. Reasonably priced. Dog friendly.
Now? I had the same experience as another recent reviewer. I encountered a gathering of employees interacting with each other and ignoring customers. After a brief and unsatisfying interaction, I left with my eyeglass problem (deteriorating scratch coat on the lenses) unsolved. I returned a few days later to a better result, but then had to wait nearly an hour when I picked up my new glasses a week later. Not disastrous, but not a level of service you would recommend to your friends. I had personally recommended Warby Parker to perhaps twenty people over the past couple of years.
There's no major reason to not buy eyeglasses at Warby, but it's not the five star experience offered when the store first opened.
Oh yes, they're no longer dog friendly. They're dog tolerant. This is the result of Scottsdale Quarter policy, however, and not Warby Parker specifically, so it's not a factor in the rating.
