| - I came here recommended by a friend, to do pink hair dye. While I really enjoyed the cool, vintage decor, and kind staff, I can't say I loved the hair colour I received.
I wanted a pastel pink, and emailed sone photo examples of what I wanted before booking. They said they wouldn't have an issue with it. By the time my hair was bleached, they only had two pinks. One was red-ish strawberry, the other pale, marshmallow, pink. My hair stylist suggested the darker, so that as it washes out, it'll be like the colour I wanted.
Two weeks later, it's orange, coppery and I was sad because I'm a poor ass student, so for what I paid and for how long it lasted wasn't worth it.
Granted, I probably could have gone to greater lengths to preserve the colour, but I guess I wasn't motivated since I didn't like it. On the other hand, my stylist should've mentioned the ways to maintain it, for example, purple hair shampoo/conditioner and washing hair in cool water as opposed to hot. I also wish they just told me they didn't have the exact colour I wanted. Would've saved me a trip.
I went to a different salon and got my hair fixed, so it's now the colour I wanted. Still, all that unnecessary bleaching probably wasn't good hair health.
The staff here are great and experienced, and getting a haircut from here isn't necessarily a bad move, but crazy colour choices here aren't wide.
I am under the impression they said they could do my colour, regardless of materials, to make extra money. They're a small business though, so I kinda understand.
