  • I highly recommend this veterinary clinic. Dr. Bonder was able to quickly identify symptoms that Another Vet missed. She and her staff are diligent, caring and down-to-earth. I adopted a little kitty from the Oakville and Milton Humane Society and a week or so later, he became very lethargic. I took my kitty to a Another Vet, and they said they did not see any current reason to test for FIV or leukemia. They said they would follow up the next day and that they would obtain his healthr records from OMHS, but never did. A few days later, the kitty was still lethargic, and my roommate encouraged me to take him back to Another Vet. That vet said a quick follow-up would be $70, so I figured I might as well get a second opinion. I took my kitty to Dr. Bonder at the Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic, because it it a cat-only vet. She immediately picked up on some symptoms the other vet had missed. Specifically, that his gums were pale and that he felt very skinny. She was very knowledgeable regarding the various humane societys in the GTA.....she knew that the Toronto Humane Society does test for FIV and feline leukemia, wheres Oakville and Milton does not. The other vet hadn't mentioned this (they probably didn't know?). She also spent a lot of time explaining the symptoms and possiblities to me, including the costs associated with testing, etc. Dr. Bonder's thorough examination and specialized knowledge made me feel comfortable deciding it was worth testing the kitty for FIV and feline leukemia. Unfortunately, he had the latter : ( She recommended some care options to make the kitty's last weeks more comfortable. Eventually, he holed up in a drawer, so I decided to have him put down. Dr. Bonder was SOOOOO compassionate with the little kitty, she got me a chair so I could sit with him while he was put down, I cried, LOL, and she was very nice about it. I've now adopted a second kitty (from the Oakville and Milton Humane Society again, please don't let the fact they don't test for FIV and leukemia deter you from getting a cat there!), and I take Oscar to Dr. Bonder. She is just so gentle and thorough when treating my cat, as a true cat-lover, it really makes me feel like I am giving him the best treatment available. They'll even hold your cat during the day, in case you don't have time to go home and back from the appointment. The vet techs are really good, too, one of them owns nine cats! I felt like the costs associated with my appointment were very clearly explained to me.....she even suggested some less expensive alternatives to little Oscar's special catfood, and has asked that he comes again in six weeks for a complimentary weight check. I really like this vet and highly recommend it to all cat lovers out there.
