This is one of the best Farmer's Markets I've been to (and I'm from the land of the best one in the country). I like the ones that have more than just produce; it gives those of us who are traveling more options. Many stands have samples. Besides the expected produce, there was local wine, pastries, bread, herb mixes, jams, gourmet salts, and crafts. I was there around 11:00 on a Saturday morning and found it odd that several vendors were packing up for the day (it opened at 8:00). So I guess get there early...unless there is some kind of switch off for the afternoon hours? Not sure how many vendors are there during the week. Bring cash; ATM is on site if you forget.
I am disappointed that this isn't at the top of the "things to do in Charlotte" lists that are out there. I actually had to look up "farmers markets" to find its existence.
