This company wanted me to pay over $900 to install four vent registers...... So I would guess the labor would be $850 to remove 8 screws and install the four registers that cost $50!!
I had also purchased a annual maintenance agreement for $190 for the year. When my tenant called to say they were having an issue with the AC I called Sierra to have them perform the Summer check. They still wanted to charge me $69 for a service call. When I asked why do I need to pay for a service call when they were already compensated for the maintenance package? The said that they have to charge for a service call to determine the problem. I asked for have of the maintenance packaged to be refunded and applied to the service call.
I should have ran with my refund. Now the tech says that there is a leak at the condenser? Read the reviews.....I bet it will be $1000's. I will follow up. But everyone should stay away from this company. By the way, I am still waiting for the owner to call me back.
The outrageous quote and this company drove me to my first review on Yelp! So thank you for that Sierra! Now I will have to make some Friends...........
It is very strange to see such extreme differences of bad and good reviews. It makes no sense....unless something is fishy?
Follow up... $9000 for a new system as my system is too old. But I would get a 12% discount to net at $8000! My system is old, however doing some research I found that I could buy a complete brand name 2.5 ton seer 14 system for $1400-$1500. This is retail! I am sure Sierra gets parts for much less. Labor and other parts/fabrication of the air handler couldn't be much more than a $1000. Sierra has a job posting on Craig's list for HVAC techs up $30 per hour. So they are making a $5500-$6000 company dollar on my estimate?
I have 3 bids so far from a few of the highly rated companies in Las Vegas. The estimates are from $4400 to $6000. These bids seem much more in line with the cost calculations I have mentioned.
I will say that the Sierra manager did reached out to me. He was extremely professional and listened attentively. That has to be worth an extra $2000-$3600 right?
RJM (Rocky) if you read the review and talked to Jack, the exorbitant pricing was just a part of the problem. But with that said, thank you for the poor response.
Update1 : 7/20/2016 Black Mountain serviced my unit over a year ago for $200 and it is still working. Thank you Black Mountain!
Update2: 7/6/2017 It has been 2 years since my service by Black Mountain. Unit is still cooling.
