Hiking around Toronto 9AM on a Friday morning and looking for a hearty semi-healthy breakfast in the Yonge-Sheppard area and stumbled across Whole Foods.
Wow. Didn't know they did breakfast!
Chose the "Omelet" which comes with a choice of 3 toppings, toast and home fries ($8.00). Not bad at all. Upon debating between only 3 toppings = fairly difficult decision... but the staff let me chose anything I wanted. YAY! Oh and I didn't want toast so easy peasy substituted a mixed green salad for no extra cost. Wow what service!
Grabbed my ticket order and got a large coconut milk cappuccino ($4.50) and picked up a healthy amount of sectioned grapefruit and orange ($4.09) and paid. All in $18.75.
The wait was about 5-15 minutes. Lots of local business people enjoying the free wifi, adequate seating and all the hot sauce, bbq sauce, ketchup you can help yourself to.
Down to the meal:
Omelet: Adequate of slightly over-cooked toppings mixed-in-batter frittata-style once-folded over omelet. Pass
Greens: Fresh, simple. Dressing could be better 'tossed in' than 'drizzled'. Pass
Home fries: PERFECT. Pre-boiled then crispy deep fried to perfection. Tiny bit of salt, super plain but great.
I will be back.
PS: Super clean environment. Their custodian was constantly wiping, cleaning and clearing their cafeteria. Good work Whole Foods!
