| - You walk in, sign the waiver form, and then gaze upon all the guns they have for you to rent. You pick your weapon (handguns, automatic weapons, rifles, shotguns), how much ammo, a target to shoot at, and then make your way over the cashier.
The prices are steep, but hey, you're in Vegas. $50 for 50 rounds for an automatic weapon, $10 for a handgun clip, etc. The staff is professional, if a bit cold (and also strapped, in case you decide to make sudden movements). The customers/tourists in here ran the gamut -- Asian family of six, dudes who looked like they were from an IT convention, a Southern dad and his sons.
My first time there I went for 50 rounds of the M-16 and 20 rounds of the AR-15 assault rifle. Never fired a gun before in my life. The visceral experience from the recoil, heat, and sound of the weapon is awesome. For newbies (like myself), they set the targets reasonably close so you go away feeling pretty good about your marksmanship.
Came back the next day with some buddies and fired 50 rounds of the Thompson and 20 rounds of the Colt .45. Money goes really fast here (like every else in Vegas, I suppose), but at least you get the satisfaction of firing off weapons that you'd never ordinarily have the chance to (short of signing up for the military or a militia).
