| - Edit: Further to all of the below, thought I would add an update based on even more recent experience. My wife had an appointment scheduled for this week. She called to reschedule and it turns out the office is closed for renovations. They didn't bother to call or otherwise advise that her appointment would need to be rescheduled.
I don't have much to say about the service of the dentists and hygentists themselves. It's nothing special and I've probably had worse. What prompted me to write this review is my family's latest experience there and the concerns others have raised with the dentist office keeping appointment times.
One of the reasons we went to this office in the first place was the availability of evening and weekend appointments. That was somewhat illusory, however, as appointments in those prime slots need to be booked months and months in advance. Once you're done your treatment, better get out your calendar if you hope to get your desired appointment time for next year's cleaning.
I've booked appointments for first thing in the morning as soon as they open and they have started late. We've had appointments at various times during the day that have been delayed, sometimes by 30 minutes or more. I've actually had the hygentist tell me while I was in the chair that they didn't have enough time to do my cleaning and my checkup because they were running behind so I would have to rebook. Their website suggested that they value your time, but that does not appear to be the case in practice.
I understand that unforeseen circumstances happen. Someone comes in with a dental emergency, for example. But when these kinds of delays happen consistently, it suggests there are other problems at play.
Another issue we've encountered has happened a few times now where we book an appointment with one dentist and the office substitutes a different dentist. If you're unable to ensure that the dentist you book is the dentist that is actually going to provide treatment, then you probably shouldn't be offering that option. Again, I understand that things come up that you can't anticipate, but the office could certainly handle these matters better.
In short, there are a lot of dentist offices in the city. Some are going to be better than others. If you've had a good experience here, great. We haven't been satisfied and there are plenty of other options out there.
