  • Shady as f**k. (With pictures) That's all I can say. They lied to me to get me to sign a contract, and then they changed the deal on me a few days later. They lied and put themselves as a creditor (knowing that I wouldn't know that it's not possible for them to do that) as a first time car buyer. This is their standard operating procedure here - look at the other comments and you'll see. On December 28th I agreed to $170/month payments for 36 months on a $4000 car. I repeatedly told them that if it was more than that, I couldn't do it. If i knew what they were going to do i would have never signed... The guy who signed my original contract with me in financing calls me the following Tuesday saying that they couldn't do it for $170 anymore and I needed to come in to sign for $220/month for 30 months with a different interest rate. When I ask why, they won't say and just say I need to come down before they can give me details. I told Tim if I had time I would come down, but I ran out of time that day. Then the next day their financing manager calls me and tells me I missed an appointment I never made. I told him I don't understand why the contract I originally signed wasn't good. He then tells me "You're the one with the collection and the open credit card. That's why it happened. You're the one with bad credit and that's not our fault." Centennial toyota lied to me to get me to sign these papers and get me out the door. I believe they were fully aware they were going to change the deal later, because the last number they offered me before I almost walked out was $220. Thursday no one contacted me. Friday I ended up getting a threatening text from Tim saying that if I didn't come resign the new contract that they were going to tow the car on Saturday and I would forfeit my down payment. I text him back saying I wanted to come get my down payment back and to have a check ready when I got there after work that day. I go to get my down payment (brought my dad to give me a ride because I was dropping off the car) and the sales guy I origninally dealt with immediately starts trying to get me into a $12000 car and lies to me saying the bank already bought the first car and that since the bank bought the car the down payment could not be returned. He wouldn't tell me the name of the bank. I drop DMV website info about car deals and how the payment can be returned within 30 days by law and he repeatedly changes the subject. My dad and I ended up wasting about an hour of our time being driven around the lot looking at cars that are 2008 or 2009s but have 10,000 miles less than the 2004 prius I tried to buy. We got the run around and the guy was pretty much trying to hold my down payment to make a bigger sale and starts asking my dad his credit score and shit. He pretty much gets the idea in his head that I'm gonna have my dad cosign on a car that's 3x more than what I tried to buy in the first place and that I would finance it for 6 years to get "around the payment you tried to get with the prius". We say we we're tired and we would be back the next day. We knew we didn't want to do business with CT after this. He lied to me to keep my down and try to convince me to buy a more expensive car. That's deceptive as fuck. OH - and I just survived a bone marrow transplant, which I kept telling them that's why I have a strict budget. Drs aren't cheap after that, ya know? I bring my husband the next day and they have the 04 prius parked next to a 2009 prius that has 20,000 less miles. Whoop dee doo. My husband cuts him off his sales pitch and we go inside. The sales guy keeps telling us we only have 2 options, which were each of the cars. My husband got tired after 20 minutes of back and forth and said "option c, we want our money back!" Finally after the sales guy walks away for 5 minutes he comes back and says to be back before 6 on Monday to get my refund. Finally. I went back Monday and told my story to Trevor, who is honestly the only pleasant person I talked to this entire ordeal. He couldn't believe parts of what I was telling him. That or he's just good at bullshitting. Either way, he calmed me down, so I thank you for that Trevor. The head of sales is rude tho. I tried to air my grievances with him, he kept taking phone calls while I tried to talk and had a look on his face that screamed "I don't care". At the end he said "I can't do anything other than say sorry". That's true. But you could also retrain your staff to be honest instead of trying to fuck over cancer survivors buying their first cars. How about that? It took almost 5 days to get my refund. It just posted today, which is why I'm posting this. If you want to do honest business, don't come here. If you do come here, do not leave until you have a name of a real bank. They will put their own address on your documents to trick you into thinking it's a real contract if it's your first time buying a car. DO NOT TRUST THEM.
