  • I've been to Heist three times, all for different meals. The only ~cool~ thing about Heist is the location, the ambiance, the decor, and they have a really nice outdoor seating area. Other than that I would overall just avoid going here, especially considering service has always been a 2/5 going here. First, DO NOT GO FOR BRUNCH. The deal that they have seems amazing at first, but once you try the food its just...so disappointing. They have an all you can eat hot bar which I would call a lukewarm bar with a random assortment of dishes ranging from mussels to a casserole dish to sandwich meats and muffins. Also included is one item from their brunch menu that all sound great, but might be the worst food I've ever had. Eggs and beans were cold, the tortilla was soggy, yet hard at the same time? My friend got steak and eggs which consisted of two quarter-sized pieces of steak with cold scrambled eggs. I could go on for another two pages about how entertainingly bad this experience was. Also, their bloody mary and their champagne flight are also horrible. Most of the champagne tasted either like perfume or dishwashing soap. They use in-house bloody mary mix which is very watered down and has zero flavor. Second, I came here for lunch to give them another try. Their menu is just very very fast with items from kimchi to steak and waffle tacos to a large assortment of flatbreads. Most of the items on the menu are overpriced in my opinion. My friends have liked the burgers. I got a caesar salad, that was very small as an entree option which was sad. The dips they have are a-ok. I think they really need to scale back their menu because nothing on it tastes bad, its just that everything tastes mediocre, and is very expensive. Lastly, I came here most recently for trivia night and it was fantastic. The trivia host really made the night for me. Food wise, I ordered the truffle fries that came with a "not-yo-mama's-ketchup". This is the only thing I would recommend getting without being disappointed. The presentation is nice as the fries come in a little frying basket and the sauce reminded me of a mix of sweet and sour sauce with ketchup and red pepper flakes. The beer selection is alright. None of them have really stood out to me. I would suggest getting the average-joe as it is light and refreshing, and is overall pretty average but not disappointing. Overall, if you are still not convinced that heist is not worth your money and really really really want to try it for yourself, I would recommend going for lunch and sitting outside. You might have a 2/5 experience at best.
