  • I lost $633 trying to buy a bike from here. I ordered a Colby fat tire cruiser online (I live in NJ) back in March, for $433(shipping incl). Was really excited to surprise my boyfriend with it for a vacation we were taking down South. It arrived damaged, the box ripped and torn with holes and the bike was scratched and dented with a bend in the back rim so when the tire spun it rubbed on the frame. I called Gary at Colby cruisers and sent pictures, who said he tried to file a damage claim with UPS, with not much luck, so after waiting a few weeks he asked me if UPS would offer me $50 would that be ok? ...No thank you but not only would that not cover the damage but more trouble than it is worth for spending that kind of money on a bike. I asked if I could return the bike for a full refund. He said yes, but would not pay for the return shipping. Which I then found out would be $200. I tried to get UPS to ship it for free since they supposedly are the ones who caused the damage. Nope. So the bike sat in my living room unable to be ridden (we didn't get to take it on vacation either) so I bit the bullet and said Okay I will just pay the $200 to ship it back, then I can get a refund for $433, I'll still be out $200 but at that point it was better then nothing. Boxed it up nice and tight and shipped it back. After reaching out to Gary because he never called me when they received the bike, they say Yes we got the bike, but UPS destroyed it on the way to us and we won't give you a Refund. Then it was my turn to file a damage claim. After weeks of back and forth and UPS trying to get ahold of Colby Cruisers to schedule an inspection, and me calling all the time, I was told by UPS I needed a picture of the box, that Colby cruisers now had in their possession. This is the point when Gary stopped responding to me. Wouldn't answer any more emails or call me back. My claim was denied and I lost out on $633 right before my daughters 10th birthday, and no bike to show for it. For all I know Colby Cruisers fixed and resold the bike and made double the money. It was the most ridiculous thing I've ever dealt with. And UPS...well trust me they also got an earful and an appeal for my claim that I'm still working on. Don't ever order a bike online from here.
