| - Stopped in for some Thai again, with my now former co-worker, Mark. We thought we'd try this place again because it was very good the last time.
On this trip, we were promptly seated and our drink orders were taken. The lunch menu was pretty big with appetizers, entrees, and fried rice dishes to choose from. We both decided to go with Pad Thai for $7.95. The waitress asked us how spicy we wanted it and we both said, "Just a little", using hand gestures to indicate as well. Within 10 minutes, a hot, steaming plate of noodles was before us!
It was nice to chat with Mark, since we don't talk much since he left the company. Hi Mark! (He reads my Yelp! reviews.)
Back to the Pad Thai. After squeezing a fresh lime over the dish, it still had very little kick to it, so we agreed to ask for some hot sauce. The waitress returned with a cup and a spoon of dry rub and a bottle of red sauce. I tasted the sauce and it was mild. So we sprinkled a little of the dry spices on the dish and it immediately hopped up on the Scoville scale.
It was a very tasty dish, but both plates only had two pieces of shrimp. Both of us would have liked a little more shrimp. There was plenty of chicken though. I really liked the dish. This was my first time ever eating Pad Thai and it wasn't what I was expecting. Maybe if I get it a more upscale restaurant? I'll bet some places go nuts with this dish. I would definitely order it again, but it would have been nice to have a small side dish of some sort along with the Pad Thai.
