I purchased flooring for my house and be prepared for hidden costs that Home Depot does not tell you about. They charge you an arm and leg for Labor as well. Just to remove furniture I was told it was going to be $350 for everything. I didn't think this was so bad as I am single and can't do it all myself. So I was going to have them do it. Not only do they charge you $350, it's per room and they charge you an extra $200 for each furniture piece as they deem heavy... When I was getting the final bill what I thought would be around $3,500 was going to be $6,900+ change... I asked them that's not what I was quoted and then they broke everything down and I told them they need to explain that to people and say there will be extra costs if you have heavy furniture and it is per room you are charging. The deem beds that have to be broken down (headboard/Footboard) as heavy furniture but not mattress as being heavy. Huh??? So once I questioned everything and took things off, etc... I got it down to what was a decent price and then when the flooring company called, it's a whole new ball game.... they started telling me they were charging me for this and that and I said they'd have to take that up with Home Depot because I paid for all that I was paying for labor that everything I paid for was for everything included in laying flooring down. This has nothing to do with most people in the company I just think that Home Depot needs to train their people a little bit better and explain more to people. I asked tons and tons of questions in there and most of these could have been answered in the first place. Buyers Beware!!! make sure you ask everything and always ask for hidden costs or things that might cost you later on. I did that but I got a kid that I felt was maybe a little to green to be helping in the flooring department. he should have been in an easier department or they should have trained him a bit more. needless to say, I wish I would have went somewhere else.
