My bf went to Vegas for a conference and I tagged along. Originally I thought we were going to stay at The Westin, which is just across the street from Tuscany and where his conference was held. He decided to reserve Tuscany instead because it was cheaper. I thought I would be disappointed (since The Westin got pretty dopey ratings and I couldn't imagine The Tuscany being better due to lower price) but I was pleasantly surprised.
When we first got to our room, we were impressed with how spacious it was. My bf even thought he might've reserved the wrong room. They really don't call it a suite for nothing. The giant king bed was nicely made and big enough to fit 3-4 people. There was an absurd amount of pillows, but hey, who doesn't like extra pillows? There was a lot of space to walk around and several couches, a tv, a writing desk and even a coffee table in the room. The bathroom even held the options of a roomy shower stall and a big bathtub. The toilet is in a smaller room inside the bathroom, which I thought was a nice touch - lots of privacy and even if you were preoccupied in there, someone else could use the bathroom to take a shower and not be bothered. Amenities-wise, there isn't a ton, but they do offer a coffee machine and some cups, also lots of towels and shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. The air conditioner can get a little noisy, but it's just white noise to me. Bonus points, in fact, because it's removed enough from the Strip to be a slice of noise-less heaven. The room smelled and looked clean. The facilities are very decent, not too old and new enough, unlike reviews for The Westin or Flamingos'. It's a cozy place and there's even a 24/7 cafe downstairs inside the casino - Marilyn's Cafe - that felt like a regular mom and pop's restaurant. Honestly, I was pretty happy and content with my stay there. The staff was nice, polite and housekeeping offered me extra toiletries when they were cleaning our room. I did tip them, though, so maybe that's why lol. Also, the jacuzzi was very soothing after a long day of walking. Go a little later in the evening when there are fewer people. The water is hot and so relaxing. The swimming pool isn't too cold either but I like the jacuzzi more.
Now here's the bad part. If you're a tourist, like I was, getting to the strip seems easy on the first day. It's literally a straight walk from the hotel to the main intersection of the Strip. But once you walked the miles of street that is the strip, it quickly goes from easy to travel to, to crippling hell. The distance doesn't seem like a lot, but no joke, that distance adds up real quick, especially when your feet are already tired from a long day of walking up and down. I even suggested to my bf to hail a cab from that intersection to the hotel, because the distance felt insurmountable. It took us probably another 15-20 minutes, in our almost-handicapped state, to crawl back to the hotel from that main intersection of the Strip. Even The Westin seemed a much better alternative because it was closer to the main street. This was definitely not the hotel's fault but it did affect the overall enjoyment during the trip, so I would take off maybe 1/2 a star for that reason.
If you're a regular walker and don't mind a little legwork, this is a great compromise between quality of your abode, price, and satisfactory service. I had a great experience here.
