  • Leopold's is extremely over-rated. This is a good bakery with average cakes and pastries- but nothing to write home about. This place would not stand a chance in San Francisco or cities with a little more competition- unfortunately, it is one of the better places we have here in Vegas. They are lacking many traditional French pastries (pain au chocolat, brioche, napoleans, etc) and their cupcakes are not much better than what you would find at a grocery store. Their cakes are the best thing there, though their neopolitan is dry and tasteless. The best thing here is their strawberry shortcake (my husband ordered this for my birthday, very light) and their rum pastries, located in the glass case on the left. The fruit in their pastries (tarts, cakes) sometimes tastes old and I am not sure that everything is baked on a daily basis (lame!). This place is good, but not the best by any means.
