| - I hate poutine...I really do. It never appealed to me. However, when I saw Poutineville in MTL featured on You Gotta Eat Here! It just looked too damn good to not go to.
When my group of three went, on a Saturday night I figured it would be pretty busy. Luckily it wasn't (yet), and we got a seat right away. The decor was really nice, with dark lighting from some cool Edison bulbs, nice wood walls..definitely more fancy looking than I expected.
I ordered the pizza poutine, while my two other guests decided to create their own via the cards provided. You can basically decide what you want, and make your own unique poutine creation! Be careful: this can get pricey.
When the food came, everyone but my sister received hers. Apparently they had dropped it and we're making a new one. It was a good 5-8 min before she got that plate, and me and my Boyfriend were just staring at our poutines getting cold..feeling bad about eating without her.
Anyways, the poutine. The pizza poutine was awesome..the portion was actually the size of a pizza and I made it about halfway before tapping out. The other two poutine creations were also amazing, as both of the plates were literally cleaned completely.
Overall, I would go back. $60 for three giant plates of food, two beers and a coke? Not bad.I liked the idea of the create your own poutine, and the atmosphere was great.
