I recently stayed in Charlotte in the Holiday Inn above Caffe Siena. Consequently I found myself eating there for most meals (my reason for being in town, taking place in the hotel.) The staff and food at Caffe Siena to be fresh and delicious. Oh -- wait! The food was fresh and delicious! The staff wasn't fresh at all... they were gracious and professional at all times!
The bruschetta was lovely -- 3 large grilled toasts brushed with EVOO; each with a different topping: fresh tuna, grilled eggplant and smoked salmon... the plate drizzled with balsamic reduction that incited visions of plate-licking. This became my go-to dish, as it allowed me (if I wanted to) opt out of having all the bread. Paired with a salad of mixed greens and fresh mozzarella, I couldn't have been happier. Their tangy dressings were excellent as was the wine selection. I'll be back, Caffe Siena -- if I'm ever in Charlotte again!
Note -- the price range I selected was based on my experience. Appetizer + salad typically -- or, breakfast.
