  • Our first and last experience. We already had a few estimates done and we called for a quote over the phone. $1044. Then Don, the owner, came to measure, quoted us $1550. I asked why such a large difference? He said the girls at the store were not allowed to give quotes and sorry about the confusion. Whatever. We ended up going with Don and his company. We called ahead to order the carpet and set up an appt. They said just put half down to order the materials and we're in business. We show up, they ask for the full amount. We didn't bring the full amount. You're getting half, just like you asked. Fast forward to the appt. Noon was the agreed upon time and since we don't live at the house, we asked for a phone call 30 mins before they show up in case they are running late. At 12:15 they call to say they are outside. We spoke to THREE different ppl asking for a 30 mins heads up. Whatever. We show up, and to our surprise, there is no carpet. They said its on the way and they will start ripping up the old stuff. They do that. Still no carpet. They decide to take a lunch. After an hour of work? THREE HOURS pass by and we are all just sitting in an empty house waiting on carpet. WTF? We call the office and they say its on the way and Don has been notified. Umm, so am I getting a discount, is Don calling me, what significance is it to me if you told your owner who has no intention of doing anything? "He's out of town right now." Again, why am I supposed to care he has been notified? "Did you want me to give him your number?" Sure. Don calls me, annoyed to be disturbed on his vacation, its palpable in his voice. He says, "whats up?" Fool, I thought you were notified? You tell me whats up. "He will be there in 15 mins." Well, Annoyed Don, he said that 45 mins ago via a text. And he right now just texted me that he will be there in 16 mins. Annoyed Don says, well he got caught in traffic, he has pictures he can show you. Lemme call him. Hangs up. A literally pointless, doesn't give a damn, conversation. The dude shows up finally. He said he had to get some moulding for another job and got caught in traffic. Oh, ok, all is forgiven. You were working on a different job while we wait in an empty house to show up with our carpet. Cool. Fast forward to 7pm, they have to come back the next day because they don't have the staple gun to do the stairs. How the hell can you not have the tools to do stairs? "It will only be a couple hours." We agree on noon again. The next day, at 11:58am, they call to say they will be there at 1. No "I'm sorry, if it's ok, I apologize." Just 1pm. I said it's noon now, I'm here, why would you say that now? Ok, we will be there before 1pm they say. 1:00pm hits and they text saying 15 mins. At 1:15 they show up. By 5PM they finish. Well, at least we have carpet.
