| - Central coffee is aptly named as it rests in the heart of Charlotte along the outskirts of Elizabeth. Oh, and it's also on Central Avenue! This is one of my favorite goto coffee spots. Although they do not offer pour-over coffee, they do have all of the other coffee fluff so suit your preference.
The quaint space offers a concrete floor, an exposed brick wall, some sofa style chairs, a fireplace, a small bar, and a few small 2 person tables. There is local art on display and available for sale. The menu is all drawn via chalk art. They have a little case that displays a modest variety of fresh baked goods. The zucchini bread is my all time favorite and a must-try! They also offer some pretty flavorful quiche options. On the weekends the menu expands to also include some amazing breakfast casseroles. On occasion they have daily offerings such as bread pudding, but you just have to catch them in the moment.
Parking can be a challenge and there is only a single shared bathroom. Minor snags. In the grand scheme of things, this is a great little local coffee joint. I like the shared space and chance to meet new, likeminded people. I do some of my best thinking when I go there to get a little work done. The staff and patrons alike are always super friendly. Go ahead, stop in. Get your coffee on! You won't be disappointed! I'd say tell 'em Shane sent ya, but they'd just look at you funny and ask, "Who the heck is Shane?"
