  • This office would not see me as a patient when I requested a cleaning without X-rays. I recently moved to Phoenix and went here as a new patient (after already having spoken to someone on the phone about receiving a cleaning without X-rays). When the receptionist told me I would be charged for a cleaning, exam, and X-ray, I told her I would not like the X-ray. She said it was necessary so I requested X-rays from my previous dentist but the receptionist then said they were from too long ago even though they were within 6 months (as she initially stated they would need to be) and my previous dental receptionist said they should be accepted for a year (the X-rays were from November and the current month is May). Concerned about being exposed to too many X-rays, I told the receptionist I still did not want X-rays done but concerned about my teeth, I still wanted a cleaning. The receptionist said I could reschedule for X-rays but I could not have a teeth cleaning without them. I am shocked that a dental office would act as though they care more about finding a way to charge me for something that I did not need than my dental health and loose a patient over it. The receptionist was blunt and rude and interacted with me in front of another patient rather than dealing with each of us individually. I started to get the impression that she became judgmental towards me when I said I did not have dental insurance and assumed I was avoiding X-rays to avoid cost and that she had no sensitivity to patients that fear overexposure to radiation.
