  • As always when I see a puppy, I have to investigate. Upon entering Animal Kingdom in the Mall, I saw a plethora of tiny playful puppies and staff eager to answer every single question I had. Nevermind that I wanted to play with all of them and ask some pretty dumb questions, they were happy to comply to my every wish. One puppy in general caught my attention. His name is now Basil and he is a 7 month old Havanese. Typically I hear nothing but bad news about these places but I can put those rumors to rest as I have a healthy, happy, adorkable little boy who I wouldn't trade for the world. His vet cleared him and said he's as healthy as can be. As I write this, he sits next to me in his batman shirt, sleeping. My husband and I will absolutely be going back one day for our next baby. The staff treated us like royalty and and we felt like the experience couldn't be any better. They gave us detailed paperwork, medical history, information on the breeders, and didn't shy away when I pressed for information. The breeders also get routine check-ups to be sure theyre not doing anything illegal or unethical. The puppies were well taken care of. Full water, clean kennels. No puppy was alone. At most, 3 puppies shared a very large kennel area. If a puppy messed, it was cleaned up. If one puppy got sick, each puppy with him or her was treated. No puppy looked sick or malnourished. In fact, each puppy looked healthy, happy and strong. While we were there, another person came in with his German Shepherd that he got awhile ago to say hello. He showed off his girl and said thank you to the people at Animal Kingdom. It was lovely to see. The German Shepherd then stole a treat from one of the bins and ate it before anyone could do anything and everyone just laughed. The owner wasn't forced to pay for it or told anything negative. Animal kingdom just laughed and said, "She must be hungry." Even the other small animals in Animal Kingdom were taken care of. I was very impressed and wish more places would follow Animal Kingdoms example. Thank you Animal Kingdom, I love our little boy.
