| - I've lived here close to a year and I will say that at times this place isn't all that bad, but a couple of things bother me consistently. First, to pay rent you must put it in the hands of someone, meaning you have to pay when the office is open. There is no drop box, no means of online payment, nothing. I suppose you could mail it in, but either way you have to go out of your way to pay rent. In addition, the office hours change without notice so good luck knowing whether they close at 5 or 6. I'm not sure to whom they cater the office hours, but only being open from 8:30 to 5pm is the most inconvenient move and honestly it's asinine for anyone who works a regular office job. Oh and their idea of a receipt is making a copy of your money order, etc. and signing the copy with a date. They don't even sign over the copied part so I can do that myself at work. No way to prove it's authentic.
Also if you don't like trees and bushes everywhere, get used to them as the walkways are covered with unnecessary shrubbery. Because of all the shrubbery there are grasshoppers and crickets EVERYWHERE. I've never been so disgusted in my life. They are huge and get in through the front door and vent to the closet where the water heater is, which is kept locked, and you can hear them chirp in there but you can't get to them. They cover the stairway in droves and even if you live on the second floor, since your stairway begins on the first floor, you still see them everywhere. Sure, they offer Pest Control every Monday, but it never worked. In the Spring, there are roaches, and during the Summer by the pool, we found mice. Yuck.
Oh not to mention, the apartment is barely insulated, so your A/C bills are ridiculous, you can hear all your neighbors, and everything else going on outside. In my bedroom, I can hear the people who live to my right, in my laundry room, I can hear the people behind me, in my guest bathroom, I hear a baby crying and people yelling from what I assume is the apartment behind me and don't get me started on the stairway. I can hear everything. When you tour, everything will be nice and quiet, but don't believe it. I fell for it, you don't have to. The carpet is super cheap too and when they say hardwood, they actually mean linoleum that looks like hardwood.
I will say that some of the staff is nice, but some not so much. I've had a maintenance issue the entire time I've lived here that magically is never a problem anytime they check, but is so messed up with me that I could never use the appliance correctly. The only bedroom with overhead lighting is the master bedroom, so good luck seeing anything in your other bedroom(s), oh and your living room too. Also, God help you if your battery goes out on the smoke alarm located at the top of the 14 ft ceilings and the office is closed.
The pool area is nice, but overall, I pay too much for the hassle. The gates barely work, and I swear that on two occasions someone jiggled my door handle after I came in at night and the only other person I saw outside was the sketchy security guard. He is always standing just around a blind curve, as if he cannot get hit by a car.
