I went there for the first time last night with my mother for dinner before hitting Brass Armadillo Antique Mall just kitty corner from Shangri-La.
I thought the food was pretty delicious!
When you first walk in, the restaurant is clean, but you do notice the age of the building and the decor... but there were quite a few people having dinner there -- and we checked the Yelp ratings before we went it.
I ordered the Orange Chicken and Momsie ordered the California Fire Pot. The orange chicken wasn't overly battered, so you got more chicken and seemed less heavy than at other places. The orange sauce was VERY tasty!
The California Fire Pot was also quite good... crab, shrimp, scallops, cod, fresh steamed veggies, and avacado slices in a nicely flavored broth.
The staff was pleasant and efficient. There were some employees at the bar area chatting loudly for quite a bit which was a distraction from our conversation, but it didn't last the entire meal...
It wouldn't be a place I would go out of my way for, but it will definitely be a new option for when I'm antique shopping in that area.
