  • For the longest time, this was my family's go-to place for birthday cake. However, after a brief hiatus, we returned to our former favorite bakery and were met with great disappointment. We called ahead to see if the bakery had any yellow cakes with vanilla icing in stock that they could write "Happy Birthday" on. The woman on the phone said yes and placed the order for us. Upon pick-up, we opened the box and to our dismay, the cake was literally a PLAIN CAKE with no decoration at all...no flowers, no trimmings, NOTHING. And the "Happy Birthday" on the cake was nearly illegible. When we looked to the bakery's shelves, we saw plenty of pre-decorated cakes that they could have used, but instead we got this plain one. When we asked if we could get some decoration added to our cake, we were told the decorator was gone for the day. Needless to say, it was extremely disappointing and kind of embarrassing to show up with such a sad excuse of a birthday cake. From now on, we're going to Prantl's or Oakmont!
