  • I tend to find myself at PdR only when I'm in the company of others - even when I lived down the street in college, my visits were always at the suggestion of another. They are great at what they do, but no matter what time I'm there I can't help but feel like I stumbled through the door in a 2:30am need-drunk-food haze. A little update to the decor, and, perhaps more importantly, a good deep cleaning of the entire establishment, would go a long way to making me feel like it was a good choice for dinner. I'm not looking for white linens or dim lighting - I understand that it's a quick and cheap pizza place where a little scratch takes you a long way - but maybe they could wipe the chunks of pizza sauce of the walls? That being said, the half slice of pizza I ate on my last visit was quite tasty and better quality than I remembered from my previous trips. I tried the barbecue chicken slice that my boyfriend couldn't finish, and was pleased to find tender pulled chicken topping the slice instead of chunks. There was a lot of flavor without being particularly spicy or sweet (not that I'd have minded, but that's often the predominant note on a BBQ pizza). The slices are as big as your face, and one could probably satiate the average diner. With a little elbow grease, I think I could be persuaded that Pizza di Roma is a four-star experience.
