| - Great authentic polish, Scandinavian and more! A must return and highly recommended.
We heard about the new location and enjoy polish and Scandinavian cuisine. The opportunity arose where we found ourselves in the area for lunch and we quickly navigated to the location. It was easy to find with a highly visible sign. I can understand how if you were coming from the other direction, you might miss the signage.
We walked in and we greeted immediately and asked to select our seats. The owner came over within seconds and introduced herself, made beer recommendations and took our drink order. Before she was more than five feet away, the bus girl had waters on the table. Our waitress was there with our drinks a few minutes later.
Our food selections included Bratwurst served with cabbage and horseradish, small order of poutine (our fave from Canada), pork schnitzel with mushroom gravy, beet salad, pickled beets, and potato salad.
All the food was delicious and left us wanting to return again.
The Brat was a little under seasoned but tasty and served on a grilled sesame seed bun. I especially loved added the garnishments.
The poutine was good, but possibly the gravy was not what we might find in Quebec (not traveling there anytime soon). I would have like larger cheese curds. The fries were amazing. Super crispy and piping hot.
The pork schnitzel was very crispy, well seasoned, great texture and just perfect. The mushroom gravy was super tasty, perfectly salted, peppered, and with a great mushroom taste.
Potato salad was delicious. We haven't had really good potato salad since we moved here a few months ago. The salad has tiny cubed potatoes, likely in a a mayo-mustard base and well seasoned with pepper and salt. It was perfect.
The beet salad was something I never saw before, but my husband recalled his Grandma making. It was like pickled beets, cut up in cubes, and mixed with a sour-cream base. It was good and very pink!
The pickled beets hit the spot and were perfectly vinegar based.
We cannot wait to return and try more items such as cabbage rolls, pierogies, and more schnitzel.
The owner continued making rounds with guests, inquiring about how the food was. Our drinks were never empty and our server, Rebbecca was very prompt and friendly.
