| - Thoroughly enjoy the vibe of this place.
It's just one of those spots that lures you in and the owners/operators really make you want to stick around and hang out. I love that most of the seating is communal with large, hand-crafted wooden tables and benches. It's like they're telling you to mix and mingle while you're there, and trust me, you will want to!
Their collection of pinball machines is something that a lot of people dig and I do think it adds to the ambiance. Some people like to relax with a beer, some like to chat it and some like to have activities and games to play. I like that everyone can be happy here.
I haven't had the chance to try one of their brews, but I was introduces to meads here, which was pretty cool! Most of them are pretty sweet, but they offer up tastes and the bartenders will really help you find something you'll like by chatting it up with you. That's my kind of service. They also always have creative and unique beers from all around.
Lastly, I think it really says something about how cool a business is by their ability to play (re: work) well with others. Bottlehouse sticks to what their good at and invites local eateries and food trucks in to sell their tasty treats. I know Perla Pierogies is a regular. Beer and starchy, potato-y, cheesy, buttery goodness? I'm not sure it gets much better than that.
The only semi-issue I had was that the bartender working the night I was there rang up a bunch of other people's drinks on my tab. It was an honest mistake, but she couldn't fix it that night--which kind of blew. I forgot about it and then like a month later when I remembered, I called them up, told them the issue and was refunded immediately, no questions asked. Love a biz with the ability to fix issues quickly and move on. They've kept a customer because of that... well, and all the other awesome things I just talked about too.
Now if I could only transplant the Bottlehouse closer to me in Ohio City... although I'm almost certain the OHC doesn't need another brewery.
