  • Tempe Paintball is a really great field. The first time I went, I was invited by a friend and they had rented out the whole field for their party. I'll start by saying that is a very different experience than just playing during public hours, obviously. I find that on public nights it can get a little crowded for the field size, but seems to work well anyways. Rules are well explained and enforced. I saw a guy get his gun taken away and was told he can no longer played because he was playing with the barrel sock on his gun in the lobby. It sounds harsh, but it's really for everyone's safety. Had his gun accidentally discharged, someone could have been hurt. They did the right thing. The field itself changes quite a bit, at least from my experience. A while back they chopped down a lot of walls and and added some more barrels and such to hide behind. The only complaint I've ever had about this field is the absolute saturation of everything in paint. Obviously Paintball isn't what you would call clean, however I'm always surprised that there is always a very thick coat of paint over EVERYTHING on the field. You can't touch something without getting paint on yourself. Sounds like a ridiculous complaint, but if you try to grab a corner and get paint on your hand, and then your gun, it can be a bit annoying. It's a small complaint really. Prices are good, although may be shocking for first time paintballers. Keep in mind the rental prices and the field fees aren't where they make most of the money, it's in selling the paintballs. That's why they require you use their paintballs, and not ones purchased elsewhere. It's well worth the price though, they get you setup with everything you need. Rental gear has been an issue in the past. I own my own gear now, but when I used to use it, the masks were usually scratched on the lense, and the guns had some firing issues from time to time. All in all though it's good reliable basic equipment. If you have a chance, go there. It's a really fun field, with great staff and a good facility.
