Played the Sun Mountain course on a weekday morning. Paiute is a pretty easy 25-30 minute drive from the strip and totally worth it.
The clubhouse is very nice and well stocked with golf shirts. Service was friendly.
Practice range had plenty of balls, posted distances to targets and tee area was in good shape. Chipping green and putting green was also nice. One quirky thing is that the practice range and greens are a few hundred yards away from the clubhouse so you'll need to take he cart out there to warm up but at least it was on the way to the Sun course first tee.
Course conditions were excellent. Tees were nearly spotless. Fairways were remarkably smooth and free of bumps, which is not to say they don't have nice rolling contours, but you generally didn't need to worry about landing in a depression or imperfection when hitting a good drive. Rough was kept short and pretty easy to hit out of but the grass is just thick and sticky enough you have an incentive to stay in the short grass. Greens were very good - in fact I'm very impressed they can keep them in such great shape in the hot desert. They rolled very true but weren't too slippery fast. About the only thing I would knock is the small gps units on the carts that are not interactive and had a very small display. A club this caliber should have real interactive gps with a larger screen.
Bar/grille served cold beers and the locker room was nice if you are changing clothes. Overall this is a private caliber facility open to the public at very fair rates. Check Golfnow and you can save some money on green fees and 20% on rental clubs.
Overall I couldn't have been happier with the golf experience. Totally worth the drive and the price. Highly recommend.
