  • Stay away! Dr. Saxe's office has to be the worst experience our family has ever had for treatment and billing. We were referred to Dr. Saxe by another dentist. We made an appointment for my daughter to have two wisdom teeth removed. We were very clear when we made the appointment that she wanted to be sedated. The office person even stated she had to come in earlier to have that done. The day of her appointment Saxe told her he didn't have time for sedation and pressured her to just let him proceed. I was not there and her chaperone that day was not aware of the arrangement. My daughter being inexperienced in these matters was too afraid to put up an argument. He proceeded to freak her out and rushed through the procedure. She said she had nightmares after listening to the sound of her teeth cracking. So you think the nightmare was over after she left the office? No, it was not. She was in extreme pain for days. When we talked to him on the phone, he tried to blame my 19 year-old daughter for everything. He said he was too busy ( my daughter stated the office was empty) and tried to convince us how wonderful he is. If he spent as much time on patient care as he does trying to tell everyone how great he is whether on the phone or online, he probably would have fewer bad outcomes. So, she did have an infection and had to go on stronger antibiotics. Then part 2 of our nightmare started. This office is a contracted provider with our insurance but tries to pad the bill and charge more than they are due. They keep calling, sending letters and threatening to go all the way to collections to get payment they are not due. I even had a 3-way call with the insurance company and their office where my insurance company told them we are not liable, but they still persist. Saxe, himself, called my insurance company the next day to argue his point. The customer service agent said she had to pull together all her customer service skills because he was the worst person she ever had to deal with on the phone. So, he's a bully in and out of the office. Also, I have never had a medical provider charge extra to use a credit card and not tell you about it when you make an appointment. Bottom line, find another oral surgeon!
