| - I really wanted to love this place, but they make it really hard...I've spent a fair amount of money there, which I now wish I had spent at another local bike shop. The employees here are very pretentious and condescending. One example: I bought a couple tubes, installed one the same day, but waited until I had a flat to instal the other. When I took it out of the box I noticed a hole in one of the seam lines of the tube. It never touched my tire or rim. I took it in to see if I could get a replacement, and the employee accused me of "scamming" them... Over a $17 tube. Granted, I didn't have the receipt, but still...the thing never touched my wheel. He didn't even offer to grab a new one for me to buy. They also offered up some really poor advice on bike sizing just to make a sale (on a different visit).
If you're on the market for a new bike, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. If you want to support a great local shop, go to Grey Matter Family Bike Shop. The guys there know their stuff and treat people well. If you're willing to drive a few miles, Bike Emporium in Scottsdale is an excellent shop. Some of the most knowledgable, down to earth people I've met at any shop in the area. I recently had them build a bike for me, and couldn't be happier.
