We began our relationship with VFO and Jimmy in March of 2017. Installation of approximately 1200 sq-ft of tile in our home in Las vegas. Demo of existing tile and a small amount of carpet was also done by them.
As the grout on the new tile was being applied my wife noticed there were color variations in the the grout (Chamois color). We contacted Jimmy and he was gracious as always. He said it would cure correctly so we agreed to leave it. Fast forward six months to Dec 2017. The grout color had not changed and VFO agreed to use grout refresh (essentially paint) to make all of the grout match. It is now March 2018 and the grout refresh came of, as paint does. VFO agreed, in writing, that the grout did not cure as it should've and that they would grind out the grout with grinders and replace it with new grout. Now it is April 2018 and they finished the work and the grout color is no better. The VFO owner stated, in writing, that they would come out again, grind out the grout and replace it with what he called a high end pre-mix grout. The problem is that he also stated, in writing, that if we chose this option we would have no warranty on the new grout after they leave our home. This despite the fact that we have a written two year warranty on the grout which is valid until March 2019.
We can't assume that the new grout will be any different than what has been installed twice before and had the same outcome, inconsistent color throughout our home.
Pondering our next move. We do know we will not use or recommend VFO again.
