  • They came to my house to fix my AC condenser unit through a home warranty claim in July 2012. I had a bad experience with a different AC company through my home warranty before, so I requested a different service provider. They determined that both of the run caps were bad, as well as the condenser fan motor. At least I was only out $100 because it was through my home warranty. I would have loved to pay full price for a company to come a do it right rather than having these hacks come and put in a 15MFD capacitor on my compressor, which actually needed an 80MFD capacitor according to the manufacturer. Alas, now the damage is done, two years later and my compressor is fried, and I blame their horrible service. Not only did my compressor die two years later, but the new fan and capacitor they put in died after 10 months. And because it was installed through a home warranty claim, they don't warranty the parts or labor past 90 days. If you don't go through the home warranty, they would warranty it up to a year. What I SHOULD have done is contact AO Smith directly and have them replace the motor directly. I didn't want them back, so I told my home warranty folks about my bad experience and they sent out yet another (third) service provider. Will NEVER call them again.
