This is an update to my previous review. Awhile back I was invited back by Pomelo's to try the Chilaquiles again so hubby and I decided to go for brunch today. We were greeted promptly and were quickly lead to a corner booth which was perfect. We both decided to take advantage of their $5 Bloody Mary's. They were very good although a tad bit spicy for my taste. Hubby loved his though! I ordered the Chilaquiles and hubby ordered the French dip with french fries. This time around the Chilaquiles were 100% better. The pork was very tender and flavorful and I had no problem cutting it with a fork. The eggs were nice and fluffy and I liked finding the potatoes on the bottom that I hadn't even noticed before. There was just the right amount of salsa and sour cream layered on top and before I knew it I was stuffed. Hubby's French Dip was very tasty. The meat was cooked perfect and the roll was very soft. The french fries were nice and crispy and piping hot. We both very much enjoyed our brunch and we will definitely return as I would love to try the Ahi Tuna and the French Toast next time around!
Previous Review below:
I went here with one of my meet up groups for brunch. I'm really sad to have to do it but I have to honestly say that it just wasn't that great. Two of us ordered the Chilaquiles and I ended up sending mine back as it was inedible. The pork was so bad. It was tough and fatty and the gristle made me need to spit it out in my napkin. It did not feel or taste like it had been hardly cooked at all. So I went ahead and ordered their breakfast pizza and that was pretty good. One of my friends had ordered the breakfast enchiladas and she said they were not very good either and were not something she would ever order again. The $5 cocktails they have for brunch (mimosas and white sangria) were very tasty though! The waitress we had was very nice as was the manager who came out to apologize for the chilaquiles. So I don't know as if I would return to this place for brunch but I do feel like I would give it another try for lunch someday.
