| - Don't go for ambience or chic atmosphere - there isn't any. Go for good food and excellent, unique, creative takes on traditional beer styles. There had to be 15 different Sun Up beers on the menu. I tried about 8. The brewer is German so I had to try the Marzen. Solid, standard, conforming to style. Most folks will love it - very quaffable. My wife had the brown ale first. More roasted malt flavors than many examples. She followed it with a hefeweizen finished in cask with blood oranges, served cold and on nitro! How many rules were broken here? Doesn't matter; it was excellent and unique. Intense fruit aroma and flavor balanced by bitterness from the peel. Creamy, estery finish from the yeast and nitro. I finished with the imperial stout (vanilla bean and coffee? I forget). With beers this big, I'm inclined to let the malt shine, eschewing spices, coffee, etc.... But this was subtle and excellent. Everything was great and worth the trip.
We ordered the chile verde tacos. Rustic, messy and excellent. Total bargain. I had fish and chips the night before, so I skipped it here, but I suspect that would have also been a good choice. German brewer, English wife?
