  • I saw Dr. Richard Levine at the Ironwood office location in Scottsdale at the suggestion of the Desert Ridge office where I normally go as they had no openings for over 2 weeks and my issue was some what urgent as it was getting worse by the day. I had come down with raised bumps all over my chest which over a few days then spread to my neck (front and back) my upper back, down my arms and to my stomach. I had never had this experience before. I am not a person that runs to the Dr. every time something happens to me but after 5+ days of this not going away and spreading, I made an appointment. The girl who took me to the exam room took notes on tablet of my issue and symptoms as most do in all Dr. offices these days. Then Dr. Levine enters the room. Barely got a hello from him, his face was emotionless and he was cold, cold, cold! He then asks me what I am there for - really??!!?!?!?!?!??? Why in the hell did I fill out 3+ forms in the waiting room, then tell your assistant standing next to you who has the computer tablet in hand all my symptoms, etc... to have you ask me why I am there??? I showed him the areas where I was having issues and also showed him pictures from my phone from a few days earlier as the bumps were really red when they appeared on my skin. I wanted to be an informative patient in order for him to have a good idea of what I was experiencing, etc... He looked at me and said nothing. Then he asks the obvious, do I have any allergies, etc... Again, all of this is on my paperwork, that you obviously have not even glanced over so clearly you know NOTHING about me or my medical history let alone my current state other than what I've told you in the last 2 minutes. At this point, I felt so disrespected and uncared for and felt like I was actually bothering this "Dr" in taking up his valuable time! He clearly had no answers for me up until I told him that I had just gotten over a cold/sore throat that lasted about 10 days. LOW AND BEHOLD, he blurts out, oh well, what you have it viral and it will go away on its own. Then, he stands there just looking at me leaning towards the door ready to make his grand exit. So I say, okkaaayyyyyy soooooo how long will this last, will it keep spreading, what can I do topically to treat it, you know, ALL THE OBVIOUS things that he as a medical professional should have address with me before making it clear that all he wanted to do was bolt out the door. He responded you do nothing and wait for it to go away on its own. I just sat there thinking, I really hope my mouth is not open sitting in the floor in disbelief of how short and rude this person has been towards me. All I wanted to do was go to the front desk and tell them I wanted a refund of my money which I knew would not happen. Oh and before he walked out, he did manage to ask me if I needed any help with any other matters - ARE YOU KIDDING ME - you didn't even help me with what I was there for in the first place! I had to do your job for you! Rest assured, I have told everyone I know never to go to this specific Dr. (DR. RICHARD LEVINE) or office location - EVER!!! I bet if I was there for plastic surgery, enhancements, even Botox, I would have been better treated. This guy has no bedside manner what so ever and made me feel like I wasted my time and money even being there. I would NEVER suggest anyone go this Dr. unless you want to get treated and made to feel the way I was on my first and last visit to him. I'd rather suffer for 2 weeks with something like I had than ever be made to feel this way by someone who is in the business of helping people in their time of need! I went home, Googled my symptoms and purchased a topical cream that did wonders for me. Man, so much for medical school and wearing scrubs acting like a Dr!!! Any oh, by the way, he came to Arizona from his former practice in Colorado and here is a review from someone he treated there that I found online - sounds very familiar: Dr. Levine is a moody, rude, impatient doctor. I'd never go there again nor would I recommend him to any one that needed a doctor in his field. He needs to treat patients with respect. Submitted September 1, 2014
