  • I was in the process of buying a beazer home. After a great deal of thought, I cancelled the deal because I felt like the house was over priced by about $19,000 dollars. The sales woman, by the name of Michelle Thomas, set up a meeting with me. We had the meeting in one of the spec houses in the same neighborhood as the house I was going to buy. After a few minutes of us talking, her boss showed up. I do not recall his name. She asked if he could stay while we talked, and I told her it was fine. She asked what they would have to do to let the sale of the house go through. I told her the price would have to come down $19,000 dollars. Her boss was willing to go down $11,000. I told them it wasn't enough and I wasn't interested. Since being in the spec house during our meeting, I decided I liked that house better and it was on the market. I had seen the house listed at $168,000 the day before. When I brought this to Michelle's attention, she lied and said it was listed for $169,900. I told her I was interested in that house and asked if they could come down to $165,000. She immediately said yes with her boss present and said she would throw in a washer, dryer, and refrigerator. She told me I would need to drive to Buckeye to her office and she would make a new contract. I agreed, and I made the drive. While we were there, she seemed to be taking her time getting the contract ready. It was as if she was waiting for something. After approximately 45 minutes, she gets a call from her boss. She took the call in the other room. When she got back, she stated that she was sorry that they couldn't go through with the deal. She said that her boss said the numbers don't add up. She then said that they would still sell me the other house. I told her no and I left. What they did was just shy of a bait and switch. I felt like they had planned this all along and they had no intention of selling me the house I wanted at the price we agreed to. It was a total waste of my time that I could have been doing something else. They were unethical in their dealings with me. I wonder how many other people had these tactics pulled on them. I will never do business with them and I have a complaint in with the BBB. I highly recommend not doing business with this company. There are other builders that are just as good and for less money.
