  • I am sooo sorry, Casa di Amore. I didn't realize I never wrote you a review until my mother-in-law talked about how she's coming back and I had to look you guys up again. On to my review... I am anti-weddings or should I say I'm anti the weddings *I've* attended. The weddings I've been to in the last few years have been kinda mehh. The consistent theme that I've noticed is that the food is never really that wonderful, which sucks because that's the most costly part. When it came down to planning my whole shebang, I didn't want to throw a $20,000 wedding for 175 people with crappy food. Plus ever since Britney Spears got married in Vegas, I've always had this crazy idea in my head that I should get married there too. So, that's what we did. Our plan: to have a 15 minute ceremony that would have the best damn wedding food and greatest party you've ever experienced. Casa di Amore helped make my big night absolutely flawless. We had originally planned for a Brazilian steakhouse that our chapel could package with our overall wedding. The chapel screwed up and forgot to make the reservation with the steakhouse. By the time they noticed their error, they told me the place was booked up. The problem with having your wedding on a hella cool date like 9-10-11 is that everyone ELSE wants that hella cool date too. We called a bunch of different places on the strip including Maggianos and no dice. My mom, of all people, actually found Casa di Amore and told me to call them. Immediately after speaking with Kathleen, I knew that this was going to be a perfect fit for my wedding. She was absolutely one of the best people that I dealt with throughout my wedding process. She gave me their traditional catering menus but said if we saw something else on the menu we liked, they could change it and edit it. The food: we had 30 guests and everyone raved about the food (my dad's review is even on here...look for Russ C.) My husband's family is all 100% Italian, so I was hoping this would live up to their expectation and it did. They all were so impressed by the antipasto platter that we had served as an appetizer and said "Wow, this place is authentic." And yeah, I'm pretty darn competitive so to hear my dad and step-mom tell me the food was WAY better at our wedding than at my step-brothers, well that was one of my proudest moments of 2011. The service: our waiters were great, very attentive and personable. They were happy to make wine and champagne suggestions but didn't try to push anything extra on us. The $$$: Kathleen only made us pay a small deposit of $100 to reserve the space for us. She followed up with us throughout the whole process but sent us another follow-up email the day before just to make sure we were still good to go and that we didn't want to change anything. We thought the prices were extremely fair in comparison to how much food and how amazing it was. Ambiance: so fun! There was a lounge singer there that night and my guests loved it. We got a free show while we ate. If anyone is thinking of doing a dinner here, I would highly recommend it. The process is easy and Kathleen will put your mind at ease. OR if you've been there, done that on the whole wedding thing and are just thinking about a nice date, doooo it! It's great to get away from the strip and experience a little old Vegas. They also have limos that will come pick you up as long as you make a reservation and call in advance.
