Whenever someone is from out of town and wants a good, non fancy, reasonably priced eatery and bar, I send them here. Now I had friends in from out of town, so I sent myself here.
The bar and beer selection is 2nd to none for variety and choices! Many, many local beers to choose from and each has a nice explanation of what it is. Myself and two friends each got something different and tried each others. My Cherry Wheat was the best of course.
The food is great as well. I always recommend the Mac and Cheese to outsiders and it did not disappoint. Burgers are great as well. I went with the beer battered walleye and it was marvelous to the taste.
The service was outstanding as well. We were in the catching up mode, talking, but not really drinking. The waitress kept bringing us water and never rushed us to leave, albeit the night was a slow one.
Just a warning that on a Friday or Saturday night, expect an hour plus wait...it's worth it, but just keep that in mind.
