| - I feel really cheated coming out of this shelter. I recently adopted a puppy from this place. Her name is Michonne and she is a Doberman/hound and the cutest ever! I re-named her Lullaby she responds to Lully. During the adoption process I brought my dogs to meet Lully and she's super sweet, slightly shy but still super sweet! They told me it seems like a good fit but they do not know how she does with smaller dogs. I agreed and decided to take a chance. I kept her for 5 days and unfortunately I had to return her due to her prey drive to chase smaller dogs, non aggressive at all, she just loves the chase! It was really stressing my small dog out to the point he would constantly hide from her. It broke my heart to take Lully back and during the 5 days I've had her she was an amazing puppy, very smart and willing to please. Upon returning her though, I asked about the policy they have and they told me no refunds, which is fine. They told me if I were to adopt from them again that they would help, no problem and I asked since I've only had her for 5 days if there was a grace period for me to at least have another credit I can have towards another dog since I just gave them $340, they declined that and told me I would have to pay full price for another dog. So upon adopting from them if your pup is not the right fit for you, there is NO grace period, you get NO refund, NO credit, and will have to pay full price for another dog?? Lully was not a cheap dog, I don't have $340 just to give away. I feel really cheated because they didn't know anything about her except that she is shy. I adopted her out skin and bones and returned her a much more healthier weight and gave all info ive gained about Lully. I mean if and when Lully gets adopted again I would atleast have a better ease of mind if she was cheaper than the price I paid. But no, I feel like this place doesn't care if it works out for you or not, they just want your money. Especially coming from a "no-kill" shelter I would assume that they would be more compassionate. When it comes to adopting, the money is never the issue, its the fact that they care less about if it works out for you but they still want all information from you as much as possible, it's like they just take from you and give nothing in return. I obviously really want another addition to my family and i would've appreciated if they could've worked something out. I feel soooo cheated with this place, I would never adopt or recommend this place to anyone. Total rip-off.
