Allan's Pastry is a hidden gem located in a obscure strip plaza in upper Scarborough. You could drive by the plaza off Kennedy Rd for years and never realize it was there.
They serve beef, chicken, goat and vegetarian patties sold for wholesale or individually. I normally get a spicy beef patty on a coco bun with a drink for $2.47 tax included. The patty is almost perfect, it's has a nice light flaky outside pastry and the inside is nicely seasoned, moist and warm inside filling. It's really difficult to get a great patty in that area of Scarborough.
They also offers tasty desserts like chocolate, appleton rum cake, gizzardas (Jamaican tarts) and others.
They also sell fresh hardo bread made on site.
FYI: A lot of Jamaican restaurants/take out restaurants in Toronto get their patties from either Randy's or Allan's Pastry.
