  • Finally got a chance to give this place a try. I got to say I was pretty disappointed. Maybe it was high expectations due to the many 4-5 star reviews, maybe I just don't know good barbeque when I eat it. By no means am i a BBQ connoisseur but here's my take on this place. I can only comment on the brisket and the sides I ordered. I got a to go order of 1lb. of brisket, a side of loaded mash, yams, & mac n' cheese. When I opened up the container with the brisket I was really irritated because it was chopped. Maybe that's my fault because I assumed it would be sliced. I know some places ask if you want it sliced or chopped like Dickey's but the cashier never asked so I guess I assumed. Ok fine it's chopped no crying over that. However it wasn't really even chopped it was really in small, tiny pieces, like the kind of little pieces that are left from sliced meat. I feel like it was all the scraps leftover from slicing. All of the pieces were dark, like the outer crust of the meat. I couldn't find any pieces in there that were grayish like it is in the center. This probably explains why it was overly salty since it was all the outer pieces. Thank goodness there was a slice of bread underneath because it would have been really hard to eat alone. I didn't even want to put any sauce on it since it was too salty. Oh and I got a little small container of sauce for 1lb of brisket but I guess in my situation it didn't matter. It just wasn't enjoyable at all. As far as the sides go, they were ok. Nothing spectacular. Yams were good, mac n cheese decent, loaded mash was similar to Dickey's mash which is decent. Maybe I need to try their brisket sliced, maybe I need to try something else on their menu. I don't know. I don't think I'll be going back any time soon which is too bad because I really wanted to love this place.
