I've always been a fan of David's Tea but this location provided some of the best service I've had in a long time. The staff here were so sweet, generous with samples, and friendly without being overly sales-y. The perfect balance.
I do like many of David's Tea's teas (thought some veer into kind of ridiculous with candy and chocolate pieces mixed in) but mostly I love their tea gear. Sweet little mugs with strainers built in, measuring spoons, travel mugs, etc. I have several of their mugs and every time I pick up a new one my husband remarks that he wishes I would have gotten him one too! They're just that great. This time I picked up a travel tea press that brews both hot and iced tea right in the travel mug thanks to a handy-dandy fine mesh strainer built into the bottom. So great. So far I've made loose teas and teabagged teas in the mug and it's retained the temperature (hot or cold) for HOURS. Great insulation. I haven't tried it yet but I assume you can also do a pressed coffee in the mug as well.
The space is bright and cheery which lifted my spirits since it was pouring rain outside! They have several tables inside for sitting in so I took advantage of that after shopping. I ordered a pumpkin tea latte and snacked on some bagels from Saint Viateur next door while surfing the internet for a bit (I was visiting from the US and free wifi was my savior!). Comfortable and welcoming, for sure!
