  • If I could give them less than 1 star I would. We started working with SolarCity in 2013 after we purchased our home in Chandler. The sales process was typical, overpromise and under deliver. Sales person was no where to be found after the fact. All in all the panels were fine. They did what they were supposed to do. Although, if I had to do it all over again I would not lease the panels. In the long run it is too costly! Speed up 4 years, when we are selling our home. With the lease the panels need to stay with the house, or move with you. there is NO GETTING OUT OF THE LEASE, unless you want to pay big bucks. Fortunately our buyers saw the value in the panels and opted to keep the lease. This is when it gets interesting. When we installed the panels we asked the sales person, what about when we need to replace the roof. He says (of course) no problem, we come out and uninstall and reinstall the panels for practically nothing. It says in our contract, they will do this for a reasonable cost. We called to confirm the price when we had an offer on our house, we were quoted $500 total, verbally and in writing. Fast forward to a week prior to closing, the buyers agent calls to confirm the pricing and is told it is going to be $6,000! Hold on what? So after a lot of back and forth and arguing they agree to hold the quote. however we are now 6 weeks after our home closed and the lease was transferred to the new owners, I am still getting calls from Solar City, I got invoices for July, notices saying I would be sent to collections, and now the panel install team is calling me to let me know they are on their way to reinstall the panels. This company needs to get organized. TESLA should be embarrassed.
