I called ahead, because I heard that they close when they sell out. It was at the end of the day, so they were down to a few selections when I arrived at 2pm.
The doughnuts still looked good and the presentation was good. The lady there was very friendly and she gave me an extra fritter, because "they were smaller than usual" and I presume because it was at the end of the day.
I got the apple fritter and the vegan plain glazed. These are huge! I would have preferred half the size for half the cost... Unfortunately, the vegan doughnut was very dry and too bread-y for my taste. The apple fritter was also too bread-y , but very dense. It had real chunks of apples, but all I could find were the apple peels and it felt like I was eating paper.
I had gotten an apple fritter at Publix earlier (It was a cheat day!) and it was much better and only cost $0.80 as opposed to $4 at Sugar!
I really wanted to like this place.... but doughnuts were 2 stars, the service/ambiance brought it up to 2 stars.
