| - CUSTOMER SERVICE???? NOT
I am not from Vegas. I knew Desert Rose Florist existed because I did a party in Vegas with a Western theme at a home near Boca park a few years ago and they did a great job on the floral arrangements, which I picked up, for the party. This time, I ordered a dish garden for a death in the family. While ordering the website indicated the delivery charge would be $10.00. On checkout the deliverycharge was a whopping $25.00. No explanation given for the increase. I really thought it was some kind of system glitch because it went up so high with no explanation. Feeling caught between a rock and a hard place, because I wanted this delivery complete due to a death in the family, and not knowing where else to call, I placed the order. This was a Saturday. I called on Monday and inquired about the $15.00 increase and was told they deliver by zip code, they are in Summerlin and the delivery address was north of them not in Summerlin. Further that on checkout the delivery charge was indicated. I knew that but as I said, I felt caught between a rock and a hard place. I was additionally told that there are NO high end florists by North Tenaya Way anyway. Well, this was not a high end floral order. It was the same dishgarden EVERY FTD florist offers. I indicated that I could understand an additional $5.00 given gas costs, but $15.00 took me by surprise. All she did was repeat the zip code info. I did think that as a customer service matter they would credit me back some of the delivery. As an event planner I am in the customer service business and bend over backwards to please my clients. So I am very disappointed with what is essentially a "too bad so sad" attitude from Desert Rose, because I had a lot of respect for them before now, and of course recommendations for them will be qualified if at all forthcoming. .
