Unbelievable!!! When I originally purchased the services, I advised the sales representative, Jonny Wagner that I would only accept a 1 year contract. The contract that he had specified 3 years. He said it would be no problem and filled out a "ADT Terms and Conditions Rider." It states "ADT and the customer above agree to a contract term of 12 months". I questioned the process and he assured me that when I cancel, just advise them of the "Rider". Well, I have spent half the day on the phone to their call center. They are set up to make sure it is not easy to speak to anyone. When I finally got a person to speak with, she tells me that she has never heard of anything like that and I am responsible for the entire 3 years. I told her again that I have this "Rider" on official company paperwork, and she says too bad. After a very spirited discussion, she come back and tells me to FAX it to a Ms Hern and she will call me back. Yes, I said FAX, she said that they can't use email because it may crash the server! Haha! So it would appear that it is ADT's business model to lie and tell customers whatever to get the sale, then not honor their written contracts by just ignoring the issue and telling you that you are responsible. I am still waiting for my call from Ms Hern. Is ADT and Comcast the same company?????
