Dang! Tons of people have reviewed this hot new attraction since I went on it at the beginning of the year.
Though much has been said, we enjoyed the High Roller experience for what it is. As an observatory wheel, it offers a great view of the Vegas skyline since it's pretty much located above mid-Strip. If you're not getting to it by walking along Las Vegas Blvd, there is a large surface lot behind it to park at. As long as you follow signs or ask people, you'll find where to go.
We were here on a weeknight so there were absolutely no lines. The online coupon deal was a sweet value for two, especially since we used it for the Happy Hour pod. Though it was "open bar," 30 minutes passed by really quickly on the whole ride so each of the 8 or so people got an average of 2 drinks. Drink selection was fine and the bartender was cool. She made everyone Gummy Bear shots to toast together when we reached the peak (which is actually pretty anti-climactic and accompanied by a video narration on overhead screens). Interestingly, to keep with the flow of the videos and time limit in the pods, the wheel doesn't stop so you have to get on and off while it's moving.
The view itself is nice. It was past sunset so naturally the best time to see the sparkling lights and take night photos. If I had to pay full price to go again, I'd probably skip it, but the High Roller is a worthy Vegas attraction to go on at least once if you're into that sort of thing.
