| - Well I should have known that things would not have changed even after 5 years since I've stayed at this hotel. I heard they renovated their rooms and upgraded and modernized them so I got suckered in and reserved 2 rooms for this week. I should have been smart enough to realize when a deal sounds too good to be true it usually is. The rooms were supposedly $40 each or so which doesn't sound bad. But then you add taxes and resort fees and evth and I paid $500 for the rooms. When we got to the lobby the express check in kiosks were a total waste of time because I went through the process and all it said was that the rooms were not ready and they would email when it was time. This was around 330 pm when our check in time was supposed to be 3pm. So we waited in a long, long , long, endless line that was moving at a snail pace ( only 2 ladies were working the regular check in line) and finally around 415 or so we made it to the counter and it wasn't as smooth. They could not find the second room reservation under either name so I was lucky I had printed a copy of my email and showed them the confirmation and names and tried to convince them I did pay for 2 rooms.
After that she said one room was with 2 queens and one had a king bed. Nope!!! I chose 2 rooms with 2 queens because everyone needs their own bed. I don't come to Vegas to crash in the same bed with my 14 year old, no thanks.
So after another 15 minutes she was able to switch it to 2 beds, but there was no connecting rooms or even rooms close to each other. We did get the same floor at least maybe 7 doors away or smth. So we come to the rooms and surprise surprise, it's not just the same old, ugly, smelly, outdated room from decades ago, but it's also got the worst view I've ever had in 22 years I've been coming to Vegas. All we can see is the parking structure to the left and the other rooms to the right in the Mardi Gras tower. Nothing has been renovated or updated so I feel duped. Whatever pretty modern rooms they're showing out there in advertisements and monitors are absolutely nothing like what you actually get. I feel like this is a total bait and switch so this was the 3rd strike for Harrahs. We will never come back to this casino again because everything from trying to find the parking, to checking in, to the ugly old rooms, to their exorbitant resort fees, to their parking fees has been a complete disappointment. And last time we were here a couple years ago none of their food venues were good either so we won't even attempt any culinary adventures in here. We're just going to use the rooms to shower and get the hell out the rest of the day and night and go to the other casinos for better experiences, to feast our eyes on their pretty indoor decor and feast our bellies on the much superior food, at Bellagio or Venetian or Arias or Caesar's palace. Harrahs has officially been crossed off our Vegas list
