This review is for the PARTIES only. The Museum itself is still 5 stars but the parties...oh, the parties. Sad sigh.
I held my son's 4th bday party here this past weekend and it was awful. For the amount of money we spent, our entire party left feeling ripped off, harassed and unsatisfied. The party itself is one star but I bumped it to two b/c the kids enjoyed playing in the museum.
The staff was rude to our guests, they were not actively engaged w/the kids and made no effort to keep our group together. The room was not decorated. They use the cheapest of everything and don't even give you extra napkins. No balloons or anything to make it feel like a party. Goodie bags were cheap and had a few Oriental Trading Co. pieces of junk and a DPK magnet. The cupcakes didn't even have sprinkles. They gave each kid one mini sized juice box. They tried to keep everything that wasn't used, even though we paid for it, then gave us a hard time for wanting to use, oh, an extra juice for a thirsty kid or an extra goodie bag for two kids who had to stay home. We did not get our full 1hr 45min, they rushed us out the door after telling the kids not to touch anything b/c the museum was closed. For nearly $300 I coulda paid for more guests to come play then had a better party with real food and ambience elsewhere.
The worst part - 90% of us are museum members. What a shame.
